Homemade Tomatillo Sauce

Tomatillo Sauce

  • 6-12 tomatillos
  • 1 jalapeno
  • 1 white onion
  • 4 cloves of garlic
  • zest of 1 lime
  • cilantro (optional)
  • salt & pepper
  1. remove husks from tomatillos and place in a large pot. cover with water.
  2. toss in whole jalapeno and bring to a slow boil. cook for about 15-20 minutes.
  3. drain water from tomatillos and place in food processor. season with salt & pepper
  4. chop top off jalapeno and place in food processor.
  5. rough chop white onion, smash garlic and add to food processor.
  6. add zest from lime and leaves from cilantro and puree. (do in batches if food processor is small)
